Brian Brecht - Setting the Tone for Rutgers Lacrosse

Today on the show we have the head coach of Rutgers University Men’s Lacrosse, Brian Brecht.
Coach Brecht has over 20 years of college coaching experience. He was named head coach at Rutgers in June, 2011. Rutgers finished the 2018 season with a 9-6 record. They were on the bubble this year, and just missed out on the playoffs. In 2017 Rutgers finished 10-4 and at one point was ranked number one in there nation. In 2016, Rutgers tied it’s record for most wins in a season.
Coach Brecht came to Rutgers after coaching at Sienna for seven years. He was named MAAC Coach of the Year 3 times and lead the program to it’s first ever national ranking.
Before Siena he was an assistant coach at Loyola, Rutgers, West Point, Upenn, Hartwick and Yorktown High school.
Coach Brecht played at Sachem High School on LI and played lacrosse at Springfield College in the mid 90’s.
Today we talk about all sorts of things, from how he got his start at coaching, to how he sets the tone for Rutgers lacrosse.
