Orange, in collaboration with Open AI and Meta, is developing AI models to enhance the understanding of underrepresented West African languages, aiming to improve connectivity and digital services while addressing cultural and linguistic gaps in AI systems. This initiative will initially focus on languages like Wolof and Pulaar, with plans to roll out by 2025, and aims to support public health and education, optimize telecom networks, and drive economic growth in the region.
