Before medical school, he worked as a registered nurse in adult and pediatric critical care in Las Vegas, Seattle, and Alaska. Before working as a nurse, he was an EMT in various roles in hospitals and ambulances in Mexico. He also has experience working as a Spanish language translator and interpreter in healthcare and nonhealthcare settings and is an unofficial teacher of medical Spanish for medical and nursing students. He also married a wonderful woman he met when he lived in Mexico. He will share valuable insight about his experiences with the language barrier while working in the medical field.
