That's what Lloyd will discuss today as we look at some people who displayed what pastor Lloyd calls a "half-hearted faith". Today pastor Lloyd Pulley will take us once again to the Old Testament book of Hosea, as we continue our look at this incredibly significant minor prophet. Remember, these last books of the Old Testament are called "minor prophets" because of their length, not their substance. Hosea is a great book that validates, verse after verse, God's great and wonderful plan for mankind.

Have you noticed how our country is slowly but surely drifting away from our Christian roots? It seems the more successful we are as a nation, the less credit God gets for that success. It's true of our nation, and it's true of many individual Christians as well. Hosea the prophet warned of just such an attitude in his prophetic Old testament book, and we'll continue our study in Hosea chapters four and five today. The consequences of taking God for granted are clearly spelled out here, so let's pay close attention!

Sometimes as Parents, it seems that no matter how much we do for our kids, no matter how much we love them, they sometimes pull away from us. Then we try harder, and they pull further away. It was that way with God and The Children of Israel as well. Today we'll bring you a study from the book of Hosea. So turn if you would to Hosea Chapter four and we'll get started.

Yesterday we began a new series in what is commonly referred to as the "minor prophets". These books at the end of the Old testament, have many important insights about future events, and they talk repeatedly about the coming Messiah. We've begun a study in Hosea chapters one through three, and we now join pastor Lloyd in chapter one, verse eight.

Today we begin a series through a book of the Bible many Christians have never read - and that's a shame. The section of the Old Testament from Hosea through Malachi is known as the "minor prophets", not because the message is minor, but because the books are shorter. These prophetical books are extremely important, and interesting to study. Pastor Lloyd is going to share an exciting and challenging series through Hosea.

Every day we wake up and hear the latest news about what's going on in the middle east, and to say it's a volatile part of the world id a huger understatement. Israel and the missile east has always been a hotbed of tension and violence, but it sure seems to be worse than ever these days. Pastor Lloyd is going to take another look at the God's promises to protect His chosen people, as we again look at Romans nine through eleven.
