Brigham City tables outdoor lighting standards ordinance

A proposed ordinance to overhaul Brigham City’s outdoor lighting regulations was tabled by the city council on June 5 following concerns over clarity, enforcement, and community impact. The ordinance aimed to consolidate and clarify Brigham City’s outdoor lighting rules by requiring fully shielded fixtures, limiting spillover onto neighboring properties, and setting specific standards for brightness and color temperature. It also would have repealed older lighting rules and added lighting plan requirements to the processes for site development.
