Doris Sims and Amrita Myers welcome Raffi Hasan, director of the City of Bloomington Safe and Civil City Program and Indiana State Police Captain, Ruben Marté. They provided a prelude to a November 2015 community conversation on the city of Bloomington’s relationship with law enforcement.

This sisterhood of eight Ph.D candidates from the IU School of Education not only celebrated the completion of their degrees, but also made history as they were the first group of eight African-American women to earn this accomplishment together.
