Chapter 1:
-A motion to ‘serve justice’ to returning ISIS fighters has passed in the House. The motion, introduced by Conservative MP Michelle Rempel in the House of Commons passed 280-1, with the Liberals reluctantly supporting it despite having some concerns about its content.
Chapter 2:
-How viable is Surrey mayor-elect Doug McCallum’s plan to rip up the contract with the RCMP, and instal a municipal police force? Kash Heed says it’ll take a lot of wading through bureaucratic red tape, take at least four years, and use up a lot of taxpayer money which could be better spent elsewhere.
Chapter 3:
-Today in Nanaimo, John Horgan will make an announcement regarding the upcoming vacancy in the Nanaimo constituency. Will he call a by-election in the constituency soon to be left vacant by NDP MP Leonard Krog.
Chapter 4:
-The provinces that have failed to come up with a climate plan of their own (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, New Brunswick) will now come under a federally imposed carbon tax, as announced by PM Justin Trudeau yesterday.
