How does Abraham's relationship with God encourage you?

What would it mean to you to trust God even in the wilderness?

Do you have the assurance that God is with you? Why or why not?

Jesus, as I continue to pursue You in faith, teach me to have a great amount of faith in You so that I can do the hard things and truly know who You are. I desire to know what it is like to be a friend of God. Help me set down any idols, so that I may know the fullness that there is in You. I want to be called a friend of God.

In this episode, "A powerful God is calling your name", we read Psalm 104:1-5 and take a moment to marvel at how truly amazing and powerful God is. In this, we see that He has created you with an intent, purpose and an identity for you that is found in Him.

Psalm 104:1-5

My soul, bless the Lord!
Lord my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with majesty and splendor.
He wraps himself in light as if it were a robe,
spreading out the sky like a canopy,
laying the beams of his palace
on the waters above,
making the clouds his chariot,
walking on the wings of the wind,
and making the winds his messengers,
flames of fire his servants.

He established the earth on its foundations;
it will never be shaken.

Questions to ponder:

When you think of God, is He someone that you think of fondly? Or is He scary? Why or why not?

What would it mean to you that God cares about you to such an extent, that He has plans for your life and wants to give you an identity?

What does it mean to take identity as a son or daughter of God?

Prayer:

God, I choose to give you the identity that I, or people have given me. I want to know Your plan for my life and to walk in it. I desire to know You on a deep level and I want to know the identity that You have in mind for me. If I was created for a purpose, I want to follow You to it.

What is a new song that you can praise God for today?

If there was an overall theme of God's faithfulness to you in your life, what would it be?

How has thankfulness towards God changed your approach to dicey situations?

Prayer:

Jesus, I am so grateful that You came and died for me. Thank you that You rose again proving You were the Son of God so that I could have an eternal relationship with You. Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit who never leaves my side. When others can't walk with me through every season of life, You never let go of my hand.

Jesus, I desire to live a life of faith. I desire to build my life around what You have said. Will you help me with my unbelief? Will you walk me away from my expectations and timing into Your total and complete will for my life.

What would it look like for you to stop protecting yourself and let God protect your heart?

Jesus, I confess that there have been times that I have chosen to protect my heart and have made a different plan other than Yours. Forgive me. I want to exchange my hurt and desire to protect myself and exchange it for Your protection for me.

When you think of what it takes to be in a friendship with God, does that inspire you or discourage you?

What does it mean to you that God is with you?

Prayer:

Jesus, I desire to know You within friendship. I desire to walk with You and remain close to You in every aspect of my life. I want to follow you to such a degree that someone cannot see where I begin and You end because of our bond. I want to be considered Your friend.
