Title: Broken Bread: What Jesus Sacrifices
Sermon Scripture: Matthew 27:45-54
Opening Scripture: Matthew 21:1-11
Theme: He came as a sacrifice for your sins. His body was broken for our transgressions.
Key Verse: Matthew 27:46
This sermon reminds us that Jesus did not come to Jerusalem to be celebrated and to enjoy himself. If so, he would have stayed on the donkey. Rather, Jesus clearly stated many times that he must go to Jerusalem to die. His body was broken there so that we may be made whole. He was rejected so that we may be accepted. He is the broken bread that heals our brokenness.
