After working on this song for more than a year and a half, learning my ways in modern electronic music production, I made many versions of this song. This particular mix hits me deeper. It was finished during the last month in the condo Jay and I used to call home, before parting ways about a year before. I felt I could sing this song to him, but I know now that all that time, I was singing it to me. I used an acapella from YouTube to work on the previous mixes, but in the process of eventually releasing it on [Rejoin Records ](http://www.rejoinrecords.com,), we had to have someone sing it to clear the rights as a cover. My brother is a successful singer/actor. Even if we’re worlds apart on our style of music and the nightlife, it was sweet to work together for the first time. Using a walk-in closet at a vocal booth was just too funny. Bothers, back in the closet for a day.

I have decided to share this mix with you because it’s not going to be released after all. This version was never going to be. Nick at Rejoin was asking for a 6-minute version and a 3-minute version for streaming platforms. But after working over two years on this, it’s time for me to move on. I like these few mixes the way they are: imperfect, unfinished. This project was a way for me to learn the software again after 18 years. I couldn’t imagine all the emotions I channeled through the process and I cherish them. But it’s time for me to move on.
