So we finally made it to BRONZE DC. It’s a black owned restaurant, inspired by Afrofuturism that melds fantasy and gastronomy with the culture of the African Diaspora and it’s based on the fictional story of a character named Alonzo Bronze. The theme/idea is kinda cute and helps give context behind the description of items on the menu ( i.e. land vs sea). The end goal is for you to feel as though you’ve experienced the imagined travels of Alonzo Bronze. Here’s what we ordered:Torched oysters 🦪 (although they’re not torched) it contained flying fish roe, chili, and kyuri Wild pepper prawns in a bed of garlic chives and red cabbageBushed Smoked SnapperBraised Oxtail w/Pappardelle noodlesSide of wild mushroomsFor overall experience we’d rate bronze with a 3.75 out of 5. The bar closed so we didn’t get a chance to experience any of the specialty cocktails and we weren’t big fans of any of the desserts. Staff was great!Watch the full review for further details.
