The Children of Israel are given instructions on how they are to be separate from the nations of the world for the sake of God.

Moses Father in law gives him instruction that seem to be  sound. Should Moses have followed these  instructions, were these instructions sanctioned by God .

Moses father in law comes to enquire of the wonders of Gods work towards the people of Israel, and The Hebrew people take instruction from Moses with eager ears... for now.

What lessons can we learn from the biblical history we read. The children of Israel question God after multiple miraculous acts of deliverance, and God in his mercy delivers them yet again.

The Lord provides manna so that the children of Israel can rest on the Sabbath, but some amongst them searched for manna on the Sabbath day violating Gods clear commands. 

The children of Israel see Gods deliverance even when the odds are seemingly stacked against them. They are faced with the decision of trusting God to provide day by day or worrying of perceived impending doom.

The children of Israel complain to Moses and Aaron and and wish for a return to Egypt where they had abundant food to eat. God has mercy on them and provides them food straight from on high. 

God Gives The Hebrew people the path to success in their endeavors, which is to listen to his instructions and walk accordingly thereafter.

We all think we have time to do the things we know we should do, but life is much shorter than we realize.
