Buddy Holly made an incredible impact on Rock n Roll during the late 50's - and his music influenced many other great performers that followed. He was extremely innovative at a time when music innovators hadn't yet fully developed their craft and equipment was relatively basic.

His death in a plane crash at the age of just 23, was the inspiration for Don McLean's popular ballad, "American Pie".
