It’s a massive week for the 716 beer scene! We’re celebrating a haul of medals from the NYS Craft Beer Competition, looking ahead to the Sabres' playoff push at Hofbräuhaus, and getting a sneak peek at the "Sit Mo" family expansion.

Scott is sipping on Other Half’s Green City, while Brian sticks to the reliable Big Ditch Dayburner.

This Week’s WNY Beer News:
  • WNY Shines at State Awards: Local breweries brought home 10 medals this year!
  • New York Beer Project: 3 medals (Gold for Hazy Train).
  • Eli Fish: 2 medals (Gold for The Red Ale).
  • Gold Medals also for: 1927 Brew House (Pumpernickel Porter).
  • Silver/Bronze for: Resurgence, Pearl Street, Brickyard, and Griffith Brewing.
  • Beer Project Light: NYBP is launching a new ultra-drinkable light lager. It’s a budget-friendly $4 a pint at the taproom—perfect for those looking for a "fresher than forever" craft alternative to macro lagers.
  • The "Sit Mo" Expansion: Resurgence is growing the family with Super Sit Mo (8.5% DIPA), Lil Mo (4.3% Session), and Sit Mo Charged—a 9% Imperial IPA coming in those hefty 19.2oz stovepipe cans.
  • Collab+iv+ity Round 1 (April 25): The first batch of collab beers has been announced, featuring nostalgic hits like Dunkle Kong and an NBA Jam Sour. Note: Scott will be in Syracuse for his daughter’s gymnastics states, so Brian is flying solo for this one!
  • Hofbräuhaus Barrel Tapping (April 2): Join the Buffalo Beer League guys as honorary Burgermeisters! They’ll be tapping the Royal Export at 6 PM, followed by a Sabres viewing party against Ottawa. Free samples for everyone in attendance!
