When I was a teenager, I heard the name "Family values" when Limp Bizkit, KORN, and Eminem went on tour. 

I realized they hated their moms and dads, but when I became a father, one of my aspirations was to become the Dad I never had. 

I took my family values from Pastor Keith Craft. 

They were easy to articulate and they include: 

1. Honor because you don't want dishonor
2. Positive attitude
3. Excellence- because we don't do average 
4. Generosity because when you give you receive 
5. Leadership 

These are his family values and now mine. 

You can't value what you don't see. 

You can't appraise what you don't know. 

If you can't see what those family values are, you have nothing. 

Write them down. 

One word with an explanation or definition by them. 

I want my children to understand the simplicity of everything.  

Keep it all simple.  

Create your family values so you have something your family can value.
