1 Kings 6-7 show Solomon building the temple and completing many of its furnishings. In 1 Kings 6, the temple itself is built with careful design, costly materials, quiet preparation, and holy purpose. In 1 Kings 7, Solomon builds his own house, constructs royal buildings, and brings in Hiram to craft the temple furnishings.

The simple truth is this:

What is built for God must be built with reverence, obedience, excellence, and humility. A person can build impressive things for God, but if obedience is missing, the building may be beautiful while the heart is drifting.
