What would you tell the younger version of yourself?
If I had the chance, I would talk to the younger version of myself about bullying. My earliest memories of being bullied occurred when I was 6 years old. It destroyed my self-confidence, my self-worth, and I started to think it was just a part of my life.
This was despite the fact I was scared of going to school almost every day thinking " Who will be bullying me today".
I got bullied for the majority of my life. However, once I started doing a few things, I have since overcome this obstacle and became stronger from it. Now I want to share that with you!
I did a speech on this topic in 2020 and it got me to round 3 of the Toastmaster's contest. I finished in the Top 3.
Nonetheless, the message in that speech is worth sharing beyond Toastmasters. I wouldn't be doing the right thing if I didn't.
That's because I know me or you or someone we know has been bullied one time or another and there is hope. Anyone can be bullied. But Bullying doesn't have to define us!
