The FDA and Bumble Bee Foods, LLC have recalled Bumble Bee Smoked Clams.  FDA testing of this product detected unsafe levels of PFAS, short for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances.  These synthetic organic chemicals, so-called forever chemicals since they accumulate in the human body as well as in the environment, have been associated with elevated cholesterol, high-blood pressure and pre-eclampsia in pregnant women,  childhood developmental problems, impaired immunity, liver malfunction, and cancer.  If you bought these clams, discard them or return them to the point of purchase.  For questions about the recall or refunds, contact Bumble Bee Consumer Affairs at 1-888-295-3627.
