"Wildland arson is one of the most dangerous crimes imaginable because a single arsonist has the power to devastate entire communities, claim lives, destroy property on a pretty massive scale. Most wildfires are not the result of arson, and cases often go unsolved because there are limited resources and training for wildland arson investigators. Raymond Lee Euler gained notoriety as one of the most prolific wildland arsonists. His actions culminated in the tragic Esperanza Fire in 2006 in Southern California, which claimed the lives of five firefighters and burned 41,000 acres."
