King David was a man after God’s own heart and during his time as leader of Israel, the nation saw great prosperity. Even though enemies were on all sides and their king was the handsome runt of the litter, even though David made grave mistakes and sinned greatly, God blessed him and the people.

King Solomon had a kingdom at peace, had more wisdom than any other man to ever live, and had God’s temple to build. Even though Solomon had everything going for him, the nation was broken at the end of his rule and his own household fell apart. What made David successful while Solomon failed?
