It is NOT acceptable to set the Gavle Goat on fire. It is against the law. It makes many children sad at a time of year that is very dark and cold in Sweden where the Gavle Goat lives. It destroys hundreds of man-hours of labor. But people keep doing it anyway. For fifty years Swedes in the small town of Gavle have been putting up their giant straw goat around Christmas time, and despite their best efforts to protect it people keep burning it down. This is the story of the Gavle Goat.
