The gang from Tienen is here!
My cousins, Jill (Insta@vandewijerjill) and Britt Vandewijer (Insta@vandewijerbritt), a comic GenZ duo came to the studio right after the first lockdown to blow off some steam and tell me about what we don't read in the reports about their age group. I was eager to know what keeps them busy, how do they see society, education, mental health and what is their surfing behaviour like?
For me they are the face for self-mockery and down-to-earth comedy. From Château Meiland to Alpacas, the way how they interpret and imitate pop-culture is both funny and full of sharp perception. As we say here: "straffe madammen".
You also hear how good humour can come from a painful place, when they open up about their school and uni experiences during the lockdown. This episode is here to give a face to our youngsters who had a hard time during this pandemic, but who, as ever, show great resilience in coping -while leaving their eldest cousin inspired and full of respect.
However this episode might be in Dutch, it might provide a good reason to convert yourself to our language. I had a lovely time talking to these prodigy Youtubers. Enjoy!
