The next wave of fraud will be tied to the misuse of business identities. Businesses' identities can be taken over by fraudsters, or a fraudster can create an entirely new business with the intent of defrauding other businesses, government agencies, or individuals. Either way, those businesses are registered on the Secretary of State’s business registry and become listed as “In Good Standing”, which is misleading to the average citizen or business.
