Today, we begin with Part 1 of Chapter 7 of The Hobbit.

In this chapter, Thorin and company travel as far as the great eagles will take them, before they part ways. This brief respite, leaves them only a little time to regroup.  Now that they are much farther North than intended, they must make haste and travel towards Mirkwood at a steady pace. Soon, Gandalf will be bidding them farewell also, and they have no food, ponies, nor supplies of any kind; save for their ragged clothes and worn spirits. Never fear, Gandalf has an idea to pay the great Beorn a visit, and if they're lucky....they may just find a place to sleep as well as a hearty meal!
