Today, we continue with Chapter 8, part 1 of The Hobbit.

The company of Thorin Oakenshield begin their trek through the forest of Mirkwood. All is not well from the very beginning, there is something rather...strange and sick about this forest. Without their reliable wizard- the dwarves, and a very sore Bilbo, follow the path resolutely deeper and deeper into the strange dark wood. There are strange noises, and sights, for those with keen eyes. Moreover there is no sun, no wind, and no comfort to be found.  On and on they trudge, but things begin to take a turn as they reach a dark and unfathomable stream that cuts across their path. Will they be able to leave the forest safely, or has something sinister already set them in their sights...?
