Our current world culture is seemingly unhinged from all wisdom and sound judgment. In Genesis 3, we have an account that reveals the core reason. When satan came to Eve and asked her, "Did God really say?", humanity was exposed to "alternative thought" for the first time ever. Alternative thought is simply any opinion, conclusion or way of thinking that is different from God's.
