What has your ear?

Every day, voices compete for our attention—some familiar, some trusted, some so constant we may not even realize how much influence they’ve gained.

But Jesus says in John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

In this episode of But What Did GOD Say?™, we continue the Who Is Governing Your Heart? series with Voices That Shape the Heart.

Together, we’ll look at what Scripture teaches us about inclining our ear toward God’s Word, knowing the voice of our Shepherd, remaining in His Word, and testing what we hear against what He has revealed.

Because the goal isn’t to become experts on every other voice.

The goal is to know the voice of the One we follow.

What do our words reveal about what is governing our hearts?

What does it mean for Jesus to increase while we decrease?

In John 3:30, John the Baptist wasn’t questioning his worth or rejecting the assignment God had given him. He understood that his life and ministry were meant to point beyond himself to Christ.

In this episode, we examine what John’s declaration teaches us about Kingdom order, submitting self-rule to the lordship of Jesus, and allowing Christ to be seen through our thoughts, words, decisions, relationships, love, and service.

Our decrease doesn’t make Jesus greater than He already is. It gives His lordship greater expression in the way we live. As we yield to Him, our lives begin to reveal the surpassing worth of Christ.
