May is mental health awareness month. Unfortunately, EMS clinicians are at high risk for mental health due to long hours, low pay, and a chaotic work environment. Yet, mental health in the prehospital realm is a taboo topic. No one likes to talk about it and some don’t believe it exists. As part of mental awareness month, we will focus on clinicians' stories, EMS research on suicidal behavior, and resources for anyone who is hurting and feels that they are alone.
In this podcast we have special guests:
Fiona Thomas EMT-P
President of the Code Green Campaign
Bridgette Svancarek MD FAEMS
