The year is 1942. The Axis Forces have begun their siege of the Soviet city of Leningrad. A young composer by the name of Dmitri Shostakovich has just finished his Seventh Symphony, dedicated to the people who are starving, waiting to be saved. The situation is tense, the winter was cold, terribly cold, and the German's show no sign of mercy, even months later. But for this one night, August 9th, 1942, this young man in his 30's has offered the people of this ruined city a chance. A dream. HOPE.
