In the first episode of by Humans for Humans, I sit down with painter and fashion designer Bardia (@barddddddddd), in his studio for a conversation about what it actually means to be human.

We talk about art, childhood, trauma, creativity and the need to express ourselves - and what happens to all of that as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly capable of creating images, music and stories for us.

For Bardia, painting is more than making an image. It is a way of expressing things that words cannot, of turning experiences and emotions into something outside himself.

Recorded directly onto cassette tape, this conversation is presented exactly as it happened. No cuts. No edits. Silences, mistakes, laughter and everything in between remain on the tape.

Because being human is messy.

And that’s the point.
