This week we talk about the different energy behind challenging ourselves for fun vs. doing challenging things because we think they will make us feel better about ourselves. When we work out, we know the difference between building strength in a muscle and straining a muscle to injury. But when it comes to our work and energy, our culture teaches us that straining is the way to go (grind, hustle, work hard/play hard, etc.)
But if you are constantly always pushing yourself because you think it's the "right" thing to do and it will make you feel better about yourself, you will find yourself drained and frustrated. On the other hand, if you learn how to challenge yourself from a place of curiosity and because it feels fun and aligned, you will have a completely different experience of your life and your work (while still continuously growing).
