in front of paying customers. Amazing deals are advertised only to be

undermined by the ‘small print’. With all the sensational promises we

hear, it is hard for us to know how to sort through which ones to

believe, and which ones to ignore. Christianity isn’t immune to this

dynamic either. Teachers proclaim to have the pathway to God or the

inside track on how to make life work. But they often disagree with one

another. How are we to know which ones to believe and which ones to

ignore? Jesus has a stunningly simple solution. It is one that helps us

sort through the teachers around us; but it also helps us weed out our

own souls!
