The Brooklyn Nets released an official statement on the vaccination status of Kyrie Irving and essentially killed the idea of Irving participating this season as a “part time” player, only appearing in home games due to NYC’s vaccine mandate. 

With this statement coming out one week before opening night, will Kyrie ultimately get vaccinated, request a trade to a market that doesn’t have mandatory vaccines, or just retire as some believe he may be pondering if unable to compete with Brooklyn…
