C Minor Harmonic 2 Octave Left Hand Grade 8 ABRSM Notes and Fingering Free Class with Sarnia.
hi everybody so i want to do the c minor harmonic now you can choose in the gradate examination whether you do a harmonic or a melodic generally speaking uh i encourage my string students to just go straight for the harmonic because there's no point in doing the melodic really because the wonderful thing about scales is being making perfect pitch um so and also it's a bit easier because you've got the same coming down as you had going up uh so i sometimes think it's you know preferable but it's entirely entirely up to you and if you don't like it you know just go for the go for the c minor melodic um so let's have a little look at what we've got to do here so c minor right hand start on a c um shall i call out the notes first and then fingering c d e flat thumb under f g a flat b natural thumb under d e flat thumb under a flat b natural and c and it's exactly the same on the way back down do you see now when we get to that c look out mind what you're doing you're doing a b natural okay it's a bit tricky it's a little bit tricky um that was the notes let's uh should we try the fingering now uh thumb one three thumb under two three four one two three one under two three on that flat four on that natural and back down again and we we should know the fingering by now because we've been there once so surely you know on the way back down you can sort of remember where to go um i hope you can always uh concentrate where you've been i think um and it you know look i i always say to everybody especially in the sight reading look ahead look ahead look ahead but when you're when you know you're going to go back down the way you came remember the route it's pretty obvious isn't it same if you go to the supermarket and um you're in a strange town you remember the route so you can get back okay okay words of wisdom
