The games are getting bigger, the contenders are starting to separate themselves, and October baseball has officially entered the conversation.
This week on C-Squarethed Podcast, Chris and Curtis break down the latest college football rankings and key matchups, look around the NFL and make their picks, then turn their attention to the MLB postseason with predictions for the upcoming playoff series.
Along the way, we also get into a little perspective beyond sports — humility, giving credit where it belongs, and one quote that sparked a pretty interesting conversation: “Most people would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.”

October baseball is here—and for once, both Chris and Curtis have reasons to feel pretty good about their teams.
The GM is celebrating as the Chicago White Sox complete an impressive turnaround and punch their ticket to the postseason with an 84-78 record. After a couple of brutal seasons, the Sox are back in October much sooner than many expected.
Meanwhile, Chris takes a look back at the Pirates' 82-80 season—their first winning record since 2018. It wasn't enough to reach the playoffs, but between injuries, young talent, and signs of progress, is there finally legitimate reason to believe better days are ahead in Pittsburgh?
We break down what went right, what still needs work, the impact injuries had on the Pirates, and what both organizations need to do to take the next step.
One team is headed to October. The other is headed into an offseason with something Pirates fans haven't had enough of lately: hope.

Football is back — and Week 1 wasted absolutely no time giving us chaos.
Chris and Curtis break down a wild opening weekend in the NFL, the surprises and struggles across college football, questionable coaching decisions, missed kicks, controversial wins, and the early-season storylines already turning heads.
Then the conversation takes a much more serious turn.
The guys dive into the Lindsay Clancy case following a mistrial in one of the most difficult and controversial criminal cases in recent memory. How should the justice system weigh severe mental illness against personal accountability? Where does compassion fit alongside justice? And can we acknowledge the reality of postpartum mental illness without losing sight of the three children whose lives were taken?
From the courtroom to the culture at large, Chris and Curtis discuss mental health, medication, victim advocacy, accountability, changing societal standards, and what biblical principles say about justice, truth, and personal responsibility.
Sports. Society. Faith. And one question running through all of it:
Where does accountability end?
The NFL is back — but is the league getting too big for its own good?
Chris and Curtis kick things off by discussing the NFL’s continued global expansion, international games, unusual scheduling, and the reality that many of these decisions have less to do with what fans want and more to do with growing the NFL’s reach and revenue.
That conversation leads somewhere deeper: as much as we love football, how important is it really? Sports can bring excitement, tradition, community, and memories, but life, family, faith, and the things that truly matter have a way of putting wins and losses into perspective.
Then it’s time to preview the 2026 NFL season. Chris and Curtis break down the contenders, division races, playoff hopefuls, surprise teams, key players, and Super Bowl favorites. Are the Rams the team to beat? Who survives the loaded AFC North? Is the NFC actually deeper than the AFC? And which unexpected team could crash the playoff party?
Football is back. The predictions are in. Now we find out how wrong we were.

The wait is over. College football is BACK, which means it’s time for Chris and Curtis to make predictions they'll either brag about for months… or desperately hope everyone forgets by October.
On this episode of the C-Squared Podcast, the guys break down the teams expected to make noise in 2026, the squads they think might be getting a little too much love, dark horses worth watching, and the early-season matchups that could shake up the playoff picture before it even takes shape.
Notre Dame has talent. Oregon is loaded. Pitt has a chance to make some noise. And after three straight national championships for the Big Ten, one question hangs over the entire season:
Can anybody stop them from making it four?
Then it's prediction time. Chris and Curtis reveal their College Football Playoff fields, narrow them down to the Final Four, pick their national championship matchup, and finally put a name on the team they believe will be standing alone when it's all over.
Some of these picks are going to look brilliant.
Others will probably age like milk.
That's college football.
Football is back. The predictions are in. Let the chaos begin.
From Grown Ups 3 to the Armor of God...yeah, we covered some ground this week. 😂
Chris and the GM kick things off with the news that Grown Ups 3 is officially happening, some movie nostalgia, and a discussion about which familiar faces they hope return.
Then things get considerably heavier.
The conversation turns toward controversies surrounding women's sports, political proposals involving voting and families, political hypocrisy, social media, and some of the ideas shaping today's cultural and political landscape.
But underneath all of it is a bigger conversation about how Christians respond when the world around them feels increasingly divided.
Chris shares a message from church about wrestling WITH God rather than AGAINST Him, putting on the full Armor of God, trusting His plan through trials, and understanding who the real battle is against.
You may not change someone's mind today. You may not even see the result tomorrow. Sometimes your job is simply to plant the seed, speak truth with love, and trust God with what grows from it.
Movies. Sports. Politics. Culture. Faith.
Just another normal week on the C-Squared Podcast. 🎙️
What happens when we stop taking care of the things that matter?
This week, Chris and the GM start close to home with summer reflections, family life, parenting, and the reminder that some of life's loudest and craziest moments are also the ones we'll miss someday.
Then it's time to talk malls. They dive into the decline of once-thriving shopping centers, the business practices of companies like Namdar Realty, and what happens to businesses and communities when properties are allowed to deteriorate.
From there, the conversation heads to the diamond with MLB's competitive balance problem, the salary-cap debate, struggling teams, pitching slumps, trades, and the playoff picture.
Finally, things get bigger as Chris and the GM tackle truth, free speech, responsibility, cultural norms, and the warning signs of a society losing its way.
From the places we build to the families we raise and the culture we leave behind, maybe the lesson is simple: take care of what matters before it's gone.
Sometimes the toughest battles are the ones nobody else can see.
This week, Chris and the GM dive into a deeply personal conversation about mental health, insomnia, medication dependency, and the role faith has played in finding hope through difficult seasons. They discuss the difference between dependency and addiction, why lifestyle changes matter, and how movement, sleep, nutrition, and Scripture all contribute to overall well-being.
Then the conversation shifts to the sports world as they break down the latest NBA storylines, LeBron James rumors, team movement, and what the upcoming season could have in store.
To close the show, they tackle several controversial cultural and political issues—from socialism and immigration to identity politics, social media, and why understanding history matters now more than ever.
Whether you agree or disagree, this episode is designed to challenge assumptions, encourage conversation, and remind listeners to seek truth above all else.
