The Mill creaks softly as it slows, broken by the Paladin after the owners were destroyed.  Retribution was attained, but not before the loss of more innocents. As the heroes ascend to claim their goal, Jon thinks on his failure, and how his Oath of Peace was not the answer he needed to save the victims of the Hags. The Priestess ponders larger conflicts, wondering about the Gems of Barovia. How can they balance the rightful claim of the Lord of this Land and the ideas put forth by the druids? Does it truly belong to a Fane, some mystical being hidden away in the forest?  Did they choose wisely?  Did they even have a choice at all? And all the while, the diminutive investigator drinks down that which was stolen from her, returning her full self and reclaiming her forgotten memories.  She feels the surge of emotions, the drive to do what is right, the passion that once fueled her investigations as it floods back into her soul... She is Karla once more.
