The Canucks are days away from opening their 2026-27 NHL season in Edmonton. Anna & Chris share their expectations going into this season, the lineup combinations they think Manny Malhotra will deploy, and what success will be measured in if it's not wins. The Vancouver Canucks have not only opened training camp, they've even played their first preseason game down in Seattle. So with the season almost underway, Anna & Chris share a few expectations - if any - they have for the Canucks this year.

After an extended (and somewhat unexpected-ish) Summer hiatus, Anna & Chris awaken from their slumber to talk hockey while the sun is still shining and the air conditioners are still out. From the Vancouver Canucks signing a goaltender to a PTO, to Max Sasson's Dinner Club, to the significant reduction of traditional media content to consume NHL hockey, the pair have quite a bit to talk about. And then there's the Edmonton Oilers and their poor choices to touch on.

With Anna & Chris heading into their Summer schedule of one episode in each of July & August, the pair share a few thoughts on the Vancouver Canucks drafting Caleb Malhotra when his Dad is head coach. And as it was apparent the team had "an approach" to the rest of their 2026 draft class, the two share if they think it was a good one or something similar to draft classes of olde. And with free agent frenzy frenziing (totally a word), did the Canucks actually free agent frenzy the right way?!

To help Anna & Chris understand all that has happened in the world of the Vancouver Goldeneyes these past couple weeks, Lachlan Irvine joins to share all that he knows. The three discuss how Vancouver went relatively unscathed through the expansion process, drafted KK Harvey, and are setting themselves up for a good 2026-27 campaign. And to wrap the episode up, they share who they have the Vancouver Canucks taking at third overall in the NHL Entry Draft.

Plus the pair talk about the PWHL expansion process and Anna tries to walk Chris through the complexity of the expansion draft.
