As part of our build-up to Freedom Day which is on the 27th of April, we continue to bring you stories related to how we got there. This morning we speak to Ambassador Abdul Minty, one of our country’s anti-apartheid activists who spent many years in exile and also top diplomat still representing the country under a democratic dispensation. Ambassador Minty left the country in 1958 for Britain, to join the anti-apartheid movement. Amongst his many contributions, he was instrumental in exposing the apartheid government’s nuclear armaments programme. This week he was awarded an honorary doctorate by Wits University in science for his contributions to peace and for the use of science for development and he now joins us via Zoom to share snippets of his journey in a wide-ranging interview….
