Cadmus, the founder and first king of Thebes from Greek Mythology, lived a long and adventurous life. Cadmus is famous for bringing the alphabet  to the Greek world, but lived a life of hardship following the  abduction of his sister Europa. The story of Cadmus is a fascinating one with a particularly strange ending!
