Jillybean is the person Tom got to know the most during his first ever hike on the AT. Even though he never actually met her. Jillybean passed away years before. When I was a senior in high school my pastor, Tom Robins, looked at me and said two words that would become my life motto: Love Brave. Not only is Tom joining us for today's epside, he is sticking around all month! In the month of February we will be releasing our first ever series on the podcast all about Love Brave. In this episode, Tom shares the story of why he became a pastor and the closure he found 40-years later.

God and I have two goals for 2026:

1. My word of the year, (which we will talk about in our last episode of the year).

2. Becoming a Proverbs 31 woman.

Proverbs 31 is a common chapter preached at women, and some women have grown to resent it. There are two reasons I am focusing on this chapter in 2026. The first is because I want to be a wise and wealthy woman. The wisest and wealthiest person in the Bible writes this chapter. I have learned to only take advice from those who are where you want to be. So I am listening to King Solomon on how a Noble, God fearing woman should be. The second reason is because I want to be a wife. Many Bibles label this chapter "the wife of noble character." I think it is hypocritical to say you want something and not work for it. Therefore, I am becoming a wife of noble character long before I am a wife.
