Calls for female security guards to be excluded from nigh shift

The Association of Private Security Owners of South Africa are calling for female security guards not to be allowed to work in the evenings. This follows recent attacks on female security officers in KwaZulu-Natal. Three female security officers were attacked and raped at the Department of Transport offices in Merebank, KZN. These acts are said to happen mostly in health facilities that require 24-hour services. The Health Minister Dr Joe Phaahla answering questions in parliament spoke about how provincial health departments are dealing with security in their facilities.
