Last night the APRA Silver Scroll Awards were on in Dunedin. The Silver Scrolls recognises outstanding achievement in the craft of song writing and for the first time ever, all five finalists for the premier song writing category were women;  Bic Runga, Chelsea Jade; Aldous Harding; Lorde and Nadia Reid – with Lorde taking the title. The irony is that APRA membership is dominated by men. One person who’s doing her best to change that is Victoria Kelly – composer and Director of Member Services for APRA.
