I'm from Innovabiz and I'm a member of the BNI Network Connections Chapter that meets every Thursday here in Geelong at the Wool Exchange Complex in Corio. On today's podcast it's my privilege with me another one of our members, Callum Howard from Planwell Financial Group. Welcome to the podcast Callum.Callum: Thanks, Jürgen. Thanks for having me.Jürgen: We're really looking forward to learning about the Planwell Financial Group, but before we learn about that I want to make sure that all our listeners and viewers know that, particularly if they're near Geelong or if they're coming through Geelong, in fact it's about to head into the Christmas holiday period so there's a lot of people that travel through Geelong. From the 22nd of January, again, we'll be resuming our regular Thursday meetings, 10 am at the Wool Exchange Complex in Corio street.Everybody is welcome to come along and meet Callum and meet all of the other wonderful business owners that are there that are dedicated to help one another grow their business and also help grow the professionalism and the reputation of each of our particular industries. Callum, Planwell Financial Group, you're in financial planning, you're in insurance. Tell me a little bit about how you got into financial planning and insurance.Callum: I've been in financial planning for around eighteen years now.Jürgen: Since you're in diapers.Callum: Yes, that's right, pretty much. I was probably one of the few or the rare ones in the industry that have been born and bred on financial planning. I started the first undergraduate course in financial planning eighteen, odd years ago. The first, as I say, born and bred financial planner, so that was a four year course. At the end of that we were highly sought after and I've been in the industry ever since. I love helping people. I always had an interest with money, and was pretty good with numbers at school so it's a natural fit.Jürgen: OK. How long ago did you get involved with Planwell?Callum: I've been with Planwell for almost nine years now. I got in contact with Planwell through my previous employment which was with AXA at the time which is now with AMP.
