At the end of Luke chapter 10, we see how two sisters responded differently to Jesus. As chapter 11 begins, Jesus teaches us how to be persistent in our prayers.

This teaching on James 5:1-12 emphasizes the importance of using our resources generously and responsibly while avoiding the pitfalls of hoarding, dishonesty, and self-indulgence. James encourages believers to endure suffering with patience by trusting in God's timing and sovereignty, using the examples of farmers, prophets, and Job.

This week, Jesus’ disciples will return from their missionary journey with great joy. But Jesus will remind us that no matter how joyful ministry is, our greatest joy comes from knowing that God has written our name in His book of life! We’ll end by examining the story of The Good Samaritan to learn how God defines the word neighbor.

As we close chapter 9, Jesus shares with us that there is a cost in being His disciple. In the beginning of chapter 10, Jesus sends out 72 disciples, into the surrounding cities to prepare them for His arrival.

No matter how deep our struggle, God's grace goes deeper — and it finds us right in the middle of life’s struggles. Join us as we learn more about the effectiveness of Gods grace in life’s daily struggles.

Jesus’ disciples will be unable to cast out a demon, so we’ll contrast that “valley” with their mountaintop experience a few verses prior. We’ll also learn what makes a person great in God’s eyes. When Jesus rebukes His Apostles for their rivalry, jealousy, and for wanting to take revenge, we’ll learn His Apostles were imperfect people which should give all of us great hope!

In this message from James 3:13-18 we will study "Wisdom from Above" contrasting the destructive nature of earthly and demonic wisdom with the transformative power of God’s heavenly wisdom, which is characterized by purity, humility, and peace. God’s wisdom is not found in human intellect but through a relationship with Jesus Christ, manifesting in a life of good deeds and sincere faith. We also study the wisdom of God found through the Gospel of Jesus which seems foolish to those who are perishing.

In the middle of Luke, chapter 9, Jesus shares with His disciples that He must suffer and die at the hands of the religious leaders. This teaches us the principle that if anyone wants to be a true follower of Jesus, we too, must learn to deny ourselves and take up our cross daily.

From James 3:1-12 a teaching called "Taming Our Tongue" examines the profound power of speech to warn that our tongue is a small but volatile force capable of either building up or destroying like an uncontrollable fire. We see that our efforts alone cannot tame the tongue, as Christ Followers we must rely on God’s help to ensure our words reflect a life of worship, encouragement, and reconciliation.
