It is easy to fill our lives with comfort, ambition, and personal goals while quietly pushing God to the margins. The book of Haggai offers a striking and surprisingly relevant warning about what happens when we do exactly that, and what it looks like to return to a posture of trust and surrender.

What does it really mean to let God's story shape your life? And how does that connect to the way you spend your time, your money, and your energy? These are the kinds of questions worth sitting with, because the answers have the power to change everything.

What does it actually look like to walk with God every day, not just on Sunday mornings? Deuteronomy 6 gives us a clear picture. Moses is delivering his final message to the Israelites before passing the baton to Joshua. His charge is simple but demanding: love God completely, obey His commands, and pass that faith on to the next generation.

Most of us want a full, meaningful life. But what if the key to truly living requires something we instinctively avoid? The story of Lazarus in John 11 offers one of the most powerful answers in all of Scripture to the question: what does it really mean to live?

In John chapter 9, Jesus heals a man who was born blind. It is one of the most personal and revealing miracles in all of Scripture. It is not just a story about physical sight. It is a story about identity, belonging, obedience, and what it means to truly see Jesus for who He is.

Faith is not about getting what you want from God. It is about trusting who He is, even when the storm is raging around you. In John 6, Jesus sends His disciples into a storm He already knew was coming, and then walks across the water to meet them in the middle of it. When He calls out to them, He uses the phrase 'I Am,' connecting Himself directly to the God of the Exodus who has always led His people through the impossible. Peace in the Christian life is not an emotion but a discipline, anchored in the character of a God who is never surprised by your circumstances. Giving God your yes means surrendering your plan and trusting Him with your marriage, career, finances, and future before you know how any of it turns out. When you stop asking God to bless your agenda and start orienting your life around His glory and the good of others, you begin to live supernaturally.

The feeding of the 5,000 is far more than a miracle of provision. It is a story about what we truly want from God and whether we see Him as a resource to pull from or a King worth surrendering to. Jesus drew a direct line between the manna God gave Israel in the wilderness and what He was offering the crowd in John 6. When He declared that He is the bread of life, He was saying that He is the only thing that truly satisfies the hunger of the human soul. Contentment is only possible when Christ is the goal rather than the next thing on your list. Pain is not evidence that God does not love you. It is part of the journey, and He provides enough for the journey even when He does not give you the full feast. Jesus is not just a source of blessings. He is the blessing.

The story of Jesus healing a man at the Pool of Bethesda in John 5 reveals something unexpected about how God works. Jesus approached a man who had been disabled for 38 years, someone bitter, isolated, and without a single person advocating for him, and healed him without being asked. This challenges the idea that God's blessings are reserved for the deserving or the faithful few. Miracles are not transactions. They are expressions of God's grace toward undeserving people. We are also called to examine whether we show favoritism in how we love others, because Jesus went out of His way to find those who were overlooked. Sometimes God does not simply want us to pray for a miracle. He wants to use us as part of one.
