John Grisham brings back bookstore owner Bruce Cable in "Camino Winds." His shop is preparing for a book signing event when Hurricane Leo heads straight for Camino Island. Despite the mandatory evacuation orders, Bruce rides out the storm -- only to see homes and condos leveled, hotels and storefronts ruined, as a dozen people are killed. 
One of the apparent victims is Nelson Kerr, a friend of Bruce’s and an author of thrillers. However, the nature of Nelson’s injuries suggests the storm didn't kill him. Instead, he suffered several suspicious blows to the head. That is the backdrop to this week's entry on Rick's Reading List. Grisham is a master storyteller who has a way of making this work of fiction read more like an expose on the owners of nursing homes in 15 states who may have had a reason to make sure Nelson Kerr never publishes his next book.
