Camp Porcelain Peak: Dissecting Horror For Children

Listen Later

For this week's episode, Camp Porcelain Peak continues with a discussion on horror aimed at younger audiences. Before we get into our main discussion, we bring you some news about Black Mirror becoming real life, another popular streaming show getting a release window for it's second season, Ari Aster's latest project, and a surprising announcement from a classic horror franchise. In Totally 80's Stranger Things Trivia, we see if Counselor Anthony can come away with back-to-back victories. During our main discussion we bring our research to the table and discuss the origins, meteoric rise, and sudden disappearance of horror media made for children. We attempt to answer and dissect the question, “is horror good for children?” by perusing pages of Goosebumps and combing through courageously creepy cartoons. For this week's watchlist we revisit some Netflix and Hulu originals, talk about Joe Bob Briggs, and the bandwagon keeps on rolling. Next week we dive into some scary campfire stories to help us prepare to write our own later this summer. As always, thanks for listening.
