In an effort to provide for public safety and protect natural resources, fires are now banned in the Los Padres National Forest area from Gaviota to the Ventura County line until February 2024. A violation of these restrictions is punishable by up to $5000 and 6 months in prison. KCSB’s Lucian Scher recaps the fire ban.
