The Tabernacle was sparsely furnished. For “the” meeting place with God, there was barely anything in it. But each item held deep significance. Rather than speculate about the particulars, we can look at the rest of the Bible and begin to see what each piece of furniture pointed to or symbolized. They were not made willy-nilly, but represented things both in heaven and on earth. Some of those were things we had lost. Others were things still with us. All of them were pointing to a Saviour.
