Today on the show, Ebony sits down with Genevieve Day, founder of influencer talent agency Day Management, Forbes 30 Under 30, author, and one of the sharpest minds in the industry.
Genevieve fell into PR at just 18, and found herself on the front lines of influencer marketing before it was an established industry, hosting one of the first-ever "Insta Meets" back when brands were only starting to take creators seriously. Then at 24, with a bit of "blissful ignorance" and nothing to lose, she took the leap, backed herself, and started Day Management from her sharehouse bedroom. Eleven years on, Genevieve is now also an author, mum of two, and leading an agency with a freshly launched UK arm. In this jam-packed episode, she pulls back the curtain on building a business, breaking into talent management, and turning a personal brand into a career.
In this episode, we cover:
- Backing herself at 24 to build an agency in a new industry
- The counterintuitive advice that changed how she leads
- What a day in talent management actually looks like
- How to break into talent management, and why passion beats a degree
- How to monetise your personal brand and knowing when to get a manager
- Why you should be a "Foxy Hedgehog"
